			== Environment ==

			Mars prior to terraforming had a similar mass to Earth; this made it one of the earliest candidates for terraforming, though the process was dogged by many failures. Before Violet Dawn, Mars was rocky and arid, inhabited mostly by some hardy fish and plants imported from Earth. The landscape is marked by many deep canyons and ancient riverbeds, which gradually began to fill as terraforming efforts went on.
