Assunzione, along with Xanu Prime, were the leading voices in urging the Coalition to Provide aid to Elyra during the aftermath of the Lii'dra incursion, and the two countries have only grown closer politically since. Xanu Prime is also home to the largest population of Assunzionii people outside of Assunzione itself, and as such, the two planets have extensive cultural ties which bind them close together. Xanu Prime's military routinely trains with their Assunzionii counterparts and is by far the largest supplier of military equipment to the far-flung world.
